Today's recipe that we're looking at is what makes the magic called Akara. Akara, also known as Bean Cake or Koose is this month's Ramadan snack on Kuyuk Times. This food is a spicy black-eyed beans fritter commonly eaten in West Africa as a snack. The essential ingredients or main ingredients for making a bean cake or Koose or Akara are black-eyed beans, Onions, Peppers, Tomatoes, Salt, vegetable oil, species, and vegies.
It's amazing what you can do with oil and grains when it comes to cooking; they are the cream de la cream of the culinary world.Â
Making Akara starts with soaking beans in water for 10 to fifteen minutes so that you can remove the skin of the beans and also make them soft; when you separate the skin for it cover, the beans are then used as the main ingredients in creating Akara.
Fresh peppers, tomatoes, or onions (with a bit of water) are then added to the beans and then blended before it is grinded -the product, which is a paste-like mixture, is spiced up with curry salt, et Cetra.
What is left is to scope the mixture (a little) using a tablespoon and then fry them in hot vegetable oil. When it turns Crips red, you're done.
Akara is ready in our next edition; we will take a quick peek at making Masa, a product of Rice paste fried in oil.
